Wake Forest goes test optional, and City of Chicago's cramming for the ACT...

Two interesting items today showing that test scores may indeed be overrated:

Wake Forest University has gone "test-optional." Read more at one of our favorite sites, Inside Higher Ed.

And the City of Chicago's Public Schools are learning first-hand that cramming for these tests just doesn't help. See the article here.

So now what? Don't take the test? Take the test, don't cram?

We can't blame you if you're confused...but odds are that the SAT and ACT tests won't go away soon. However, their importance, as shown by the growing numbers of universities that don't require them, is diminishing.
